In celebration of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, Huddersfield Art Society, in conjunction with Moldgreen United Reformed Church will display a small exhibition of portraits of the Queen throughout her life. Note: Keith Harris felt that his painting of Queen Elizabeth 1st and 2nd warranted some explanation :- "the pose i adopted from the 1954 “wattle" portrait of the Queen II by William Dargie, i think done to commemorate her visit to Australia. The dress I have adapted from one of the famous miniatures the “Rainbow Portrait“ of Queen Elizabeth I, circa 1600-02, attributed to Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger.", Keith.
