Welcome to Huddersfield Art Society!
Huddersfield Art Society is a lively community of artists with a particular, but not exclusive, interest in fine art. We meet at various times during the week, and at different locations across Huddersfield, offering a wide range of art activities for people to engage in to develop their own skills and share their knowledge.
Anyone in Huddersfield and the surrounding area with an interest in art can join and, for nominal fees, take advantage of the many inspiring activities on offer in the society. These include art demonstrations, art workshops, a number of specialist groups such as portraiture, life drawing, abstract and en plein air painting.
The various groups and meetings provide a very important aspect of social connection with like-minded people, and we also try to plan a number of more social events such as gallery visits, art related trips etc throughout the year.
Whilst exhibiting a large body of work is becoming more challenging just now, we also try to arrange at least one opportunity a year for members to show their work, either to other members of the society or, more broadly, to the public. We provide members with opportunities to talk about their work increasing their skills and confidence in themselves as artists.
