Native to Huddersfield and now retired ,I have always loved to draw, but only took up painting 23 years  ago. Working primarily in Acrylics, I sometimes use collage & texture to enhance the vibrancy & depth of colour in my work. Recently I have concentrated on coloured pencils  (once viewed as only for children, but now accepted as fine art). I enjoy the level of control and detail that they allow, whilst building colour up in layers achieves a richness to rival paint. Hopefully my artwork reminds the viewer to really look and appreciate the things around them
