Annual Exhibition 2024
2nd September - 14th September
This year our exhibition took place in The Creative Wellness Centre on the Piazza in Huddersfield Town Centre. We had 46 artists exhibiting over 160 pieces of work including a large range of styles in genres of landscapes, seascapes, portrait and figurative work, abstracts, nature, urban, and still life.
The formal opening event took place on Sunday 1st September, when awards were presented (see below), and a number of artists talked about their journey as artists, and the inspiration behind the work they had on display in the exhibition. On the 7th September there will be 3 artists demonstrating painting the portrait of a live sitter in 3 different styles / media.
Each day we are open is managed by members of the society, with 3 acting as stewards, meeting and greeting visitors, and answering questions about the society. We are really proud, once again, to have organised and curated ourselves such a wonderful exhibition demonstrating the breadth and depth of skill and creativity across the whole society.

Members Annabel Maamoun, Louise Heptonstall, Karen Whitwham, Gillian Freear and Ros Fraser-Johnson talked about the paintings they were exhibiting: what inspired them, their artist process in creating them and a little about their artistic journey to date. Their work covered still life, portraits, abstract and landscape.
